Welcome to the Rescue Center for the
Georgia Rat & Mouse Club of America!
We are dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of domestic pet rats in the greater Atlanta area of Georgia and throughout the Southeast US.
The GARMCA Rescue Center is the only rescue effort that is established for domestic pet rat rescue, fostering and rehoming here in Georgia. In 2008, the center successfully placed over 120 rescued rats into forever homes! The Rescue Center premieres several pet rats available for immediate adoption throughout the year and we host additional adoption events open to the public. In addition to hosting these public adoption events, volunteer foster homes also arrange private adoptions by appointment only. For our current PetFinder listing of available pet rats:

Due to our current care obligations to the rescues already in our network and our limited capacity, we only take in private surrenders on a case by case basis. Please read our Surrender Policy before contacting us about your case. If you have pet rats that you need to surrender, please contact your nearest animal shelter. We do work with local regional shelters and can arrange to evaluate pet rats surrendered to them for pickup.
